Compare/Contrast Writing: Artistic Styles
The purpose of this rubric is to allow the younger student to know what the expectations are for writing a comparing/contrasting essay. The student will compare and contrast any two of the four artists we have studied this week: Diego Rivera, Andy Goldsworthy, Chuck Close, and Salvador Dali. Students will write three paragraphs: introductory, a differences paragraph, and a similarities paragraph. Students should use at least five new vocabulary words.

Research Paper
Research the approved topic. Submit 3-5 typed pages of publishing the results of your research. Include a Works Cited page with at least 4 sources used researching the paper. Paper will be graded on quality of research, effective use of information gained through research, credibility of sources, and relevance of included information. Grade will be based on organization, clarity, use of transitions, appropriate voice, correct citation format, grammar, spelling and punctuation.
