You are responsible to do: • Choose one personal hygiene product • Choose one household cleaning product • Use (http://householdproducts.nlm.nih.gov/index.htm) to research any two ingredients from each product (total of 4 chemicals) to do the following: o Determine the empirical formula o Determine its use or purpose o Determine its chemical and physical properties. o Determine any hazards or cautions associated with the ingredient. • Create a self-contained presentation of your research. Your display must include the following components: o An esthetically pleasing appearance o The title “Household Chemistry…” & creative sub-title. • Pictures of your products • An introduction. This should be a written paragraph introducing the idea that chemistry is instrumental in the development and improvement of many of the products that we use every day.

You should use one of your equations for the viewer to solve (hide answers in a flip-up, etc.). 5. Check the lists to make sure that you aren’t duplicating someone else reactions.. 6. Include the balanced answers to all of the equations. 7. Attach this sheet to the back of your poster.
