This rubric will be used to grade students for the essay they will be completing on the mock investment their group made on a company in the stock market.

Students will choose stocks from three companies and monitor their prices over a period of time. You will choose one of these stocks and create a brocure that would explain why you would invest into this stock.

This is the rubric that will be used to grade your poster unless you are told otherwise.

The students will work to put together a poster for display. The poster will contain relevant information directly related to the theme of Colleges. Students will provide information on their chosen college in a creative and colorful poster. The poster will be designed on poster board.

We can expect students to produce good writing only if they understand what good writing is. For example, a student writing a personal essay needs to know that personal essays express the writer’s thoughts and opinions, often incorporate personal anecdotes or experiences, and are usually written in a less formal style than a literary analysis or other form of essay. In an assessment situation, it is only fair for students to know how their work will be judged. Knowing the criteria for good writing will also help students evaluate and revise their own writing before it is submitted for teacher evaluation.When you give students the criteria, discuss what is expected of them. Student can receive a maximum of 12 points

Students will know homework expectations which would include completeness, accuracy, requirements, legibility and time management.

The students will research and put together a poster presentation. The presentation will contain information and pictures that the students collected regarding their topic from World War II. The oral presentation must be aligned with their information and pictures an their posters.

During World War II, most Americans supported dropping the atomic bomb. Since that time, many people have come to question the ethics of using nuclear weapons. Such weapons, because of their great destructive power, killed civilians on an unprecedented scale. Yet, the non-nuclear German bombing of Britain and the Allied bombing of many German cities also killed thousands of citizens. Thinking about the past (1945) and the present (Post 9-11), do you believe using nuclear weapons is a viable option or should we refrain from using them? How does an atomic or nuclear bomb work? Draw or present an illustration of such bomb.

Students were given a project that they had to follow the whole semester and then make a professional portfolio to present their work.

Each marking period the homework that will be given will be graded by this rubric. At the end of the term all of the homework are added together to equal an extra test grade. If a student gets a score of 4 on 70% of every homework they will get an extra test grade of 100.
