Grading for a how-to video project

Students will create a story board for a TV commercial. Story board contains 6-8 pages in a PowerPoint presentation format.

Students will be evaluated on the following criteria; Organization - commercial flows logically, Content - Commercial explains issue, Graphics - utilized, Eye Contact - focused on audience, Grammar- Correct, Clarity - audible

In this project, you used both the skills needed to be a successful member of the workforce and the ability to identify a target audience for a television commercial. Your video capturing and editing skills were also used.

In specific groups, students will create a 30 second-1 min commercial using the Movie Maker Program. You must import a video for your commercial. Your commercial must be a story line production in which you are trying to convince someone to buy a specific product or go to a specific destination. You must complete the commercial worksheet (provided), and have at least 4 story board frames (see attached worksheets). You must have video, music and audio. A written script must accompany your presentation. Use the commercial worksheet to show how your commercial targets the appropriate customers, and to show how you will sell your project. Students will create a bargaining dialogue using phrases learned in Mandarin class and animate the dialogue with GoAnimate.

Students are to create a movie trailer from a complete movie that I captured into the computers. They had a choice between Toy Story 2 and Star Wars. This was used in my beginning broadcasting classes
