This rubric is to grade students on their effort/perseverance, craftsmanship/skill, and creativity/originality.

Current Events Article Summary

Scoring guide for grading daily participation in class round table discussion.

Online discussion assignments are worth 2 possible total points with 10 discussions due.

Reading 1 develops a portfolio in place of a final exam.

Content Area reading lesson plan modified with critical reading instructional objectives.

These are the guidelines for completing the article critiques.

Students will select an article from a professional education journal and design an activity that will share the information with others.

Use the APA 6th Ed formatting guidelines for annotated bibliographies. Choose empirical research articles, textbook sources, research publications, and/or online resources that address struggling readers. http://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/614/01/

Select a scholarly article from a peer reviewed journal. The article should align with the course indicators for the session you choose. The article should be published no more than 10-12 years prior. Choose a strategy from one of the textbooks to use for a class discussion of the article: a Before, During, and/or After strategy that aligns with the text. Submit the article for reading via email by Sunday. Submit your article review formatted paper (see syllabus) by email prior to class. Post discussion comments before and after class.

Lead a discussion in class that focuses on one or more of the lesson indicators and class readings.
