Australian mammals
In groups of 3 you will be researching the 3 types of mammals found in Australia. Choose one common animal from each group and discuss task allocation within the group. You need to find the correct classification of each species. a thorough description of their physical features, mode of reproduction, mode of nutrition, whether they are day or night dwelling , where they are found (include a map), and any interesting facts about them. You can present them in any visual format e.g. model, poster, powerpoint, brochure. The finished product will be shared with the class and the oral assessed.

Students select an introduced species to Australia. They work in groups of 2 and Complete the following: 1. Detailed description of the ecosystem from which the introduced species came. 2. Detailed description of the new ecosystem for the introduced species 3. Detailed description of the animal and how and why the new species was introduced to the ecosystem. 4. Detailed food web including the new species. 5. Arthropod Model and Report Rubric
In groups of 2 or 3, the students will design their own arthropod to present during their oral presentation. The arthropod must be modelled after one of the following: crustacean, spider, insect, centipede or millipede. The students will need to draw a diagram of their arthropod and label it completely. The students will complete an Arthropod Activity Report looking at the different characteristics of an arthropod incuding their mode of reproduction. Finally an oral presentation will be done which must be aligned with the model.
