To conclude the Poetry Unit, students share some highlights of their Poetry Portfolio with their classmates in a brief presentation.

This rubric is designed to assess students in their presentation of a poem they have written and chosen to use for their culminating activity/project of their poetry unit.

This is the final project for the poetry unit. The students create a poetry portfolio containing 5 poems they have written. The poems demonstrate their understanding of poetic devices and style.

This rubric will be used to assess all poems written by students included in the anthology.

This rubric is designed for Pre and Post Assessments for teacher evaluation of student. Can be used to compare Pre Assessment to Post Assessment to see if student has improved on over all content.

Students are reciting a poem of their choice.

Students selected a TV commercial of their choice, used the FAT-P chart to assist with their understanding and analysis of the commercial. Based on their findings, students write an analysis demonstrating their critical thinking and writing skills.

Students select the kind of sonnet and write an original sonnet based on that structure. They expected to employ various poetic devices and produce a polished piece of poetry. *This poem will be the "text" for the illuminated text assignment.

This is a rubric for a poetry book consisting of several samples of different forms of poetry.

This rubric is meant to help guide in the creation of your PowerPoint presentation project. Each category in the far left column represents a component of the project that will be taken into consideration when composing the final grade for this assignment. Review the rubric carefully before, during and after the creation of the PowerPoint presentation, to ensure that all intended elements of the genocide and significant historical events have been represented and all other criteria have been met.

Create an illuminated text - a short presentation - that combines an original sonnet written by the student through text, images and audio. Through this, students will engage in an interactive response to poetry.

Students select original poetry pieces to include in their culminating project. They also include a bio of their favourite poet and some of his/hers works with an explanation for inclusion in their portfolio. Students also write a poetry reflection.
