Students will use this rubric for their weekly journal entries as well as in class writing prompts. For Journal entries, only a letter grade is assigned. For prompts, max score is 30/30.

This rubric details the grading of the student's journalling entries in their historical journal.

Students journal entries will be graded in concordance with the following guidelines.

Self-assessment

Students create a restaurant and develop a menu for it, using Spanish. Students must research their country in order to provide a menu full of food and drink that is typical to that country.

Rubric for skit presentations

Students will create a storyboard of 10 different scenes that depict their daily routines. Each scene must include at least one sentence with details and a neat detailed drawing, photo, or clip art depicting the student's daily routine. A minimum of 7 frames must contain the use of different reflexive verbs. The purpose of the assignment is to demonstrate the student's understanding of the use of reflexive verbs, when to and how to use them correctly.

You are creating a restaurant. You must give your restaurant a name (in Spanish) and create the menu entirely in Spanish. You must use the vocabulary you have already learned in Spanish class

Students make a book, powerpoint, or show n tell presentation of their childhood and present to the class.

1. Find a Hispanic recipe that looks good or interesting. 2. Make the recipe. 3. Write down in Spanish steps of how to make the recipe. 4. Bring your creation to class. 5. Present/explain the food in Spanish with a description and how to make the food. Then share.

Rubric for skit presentations (to be performed in a group or with a partner).

Self-assessment

The purpose of this unit is to facilitate student learning about the world in which we live. Students will receive a 'International Travel Packety' packet to complete. The student will pretend that he/she is going to visit a minimum for 8-10 days and will make round trip travel arrangements to and from their assigned country. To be prepared for the trip, the student will use technology to conduct internet research in order to be able to answer questions about their assigned country’s resources, culture, government, religion, geography, political atmosphere, social events, recreational pastimes, history, economics, etc. After the student has gathered all of the research, they will synthesize the information and write a report about their country and then create a power point presentation to go with their report.

This assessment is designed as a checklist to see if students are understanding and following the listening process. This rubric will help teachers understand where students are in terms of listening comprehension.
