Students will create a magazine advertisement using persuasive details and vivid adjectives. Advertisement should be for an original product (in other words, don't draw an ad for the latest Nike style...). Choose HOW you want to market it and WHO you want to sell it to. Decide how best you can persuade those buyers to purchase your product.

Students will be able to write a feature article which answers the essential question they generated and researched. Articles will demonstrate a clear understanding of the feature writing format and the ability to answer a question with supporting details.

Students are to write a feature article on the assigned topic.

Students will be able to write a 2-page feature article about a student-selected topic that reflects the journalistic feature elements we have studied in class.

Tell the story of your life. Your story must include a discussion of how the course of world events has shaped you as a person. You may tell your story in any of a variety of mediums: film, audio, photography, writing, poetry, oral history with family and friends or anything else you can think of. Your final project must include at least one written component, at least one visual component and at least one thing that you can upload onto the Class of 2008 Time Capsule Website (audio, video, writing, photos). You will present your final project to the class during finals week. This is your semester final.

This rubric is to be used to assess a student's final copy of a poetry project.

Students chose a book to read independently and then review. The review incorporates information about the book's characters, setting, plot, genre, theme, and writing style. We will then work to upload these reviews to our school's Destiny online library catalog.

Students read a book of choice and write a critical book review (1000 character OR 13-line limit) for posting on our school's Destiny online catalog.
