The goal of this lesson is to help the students recognize and understand the significance of important symbolic landmarks that represent freedom in our country, the United States.

Students assume the role of one child who has been placed first into a ghetto and then into one of the concentration camps. Students will create a hidden diary of what it was like to live through the Holocaust as a child. They will meet and make a friend during this terrible journey. By exploring the experiences of others' students will be able to construct their own understanding of the Holocaust.

This collaborative project where students positively share opinions, compare differences, and to collect and display data – while providing instant real-time feedback. Students collaborate by posting their favorite foods (etc.) on a wiki. Using this data, students will create an online survey to poll classmates, other student body, faculty and parents about their favorite foods. Students will be able to view the poll’s daily progress as more people add votes. Once the poll closes, students will choose three (3) foods to graph. Students will edit, format and print two graphs.

Through this project, students have the opportunity to understand, identify, and promote the regions of Virginia. Students will take a virtual fieldtrip using bookmarked websites and collect research information on an organization chart. To test their knowledge and to learn more about a specific Virginia region, students will collaborate with another diocesan school by participating in a “Mystery Skype” video conference session. Students may ask “yes” or “no” questions to determine region. In culmination, students will create a travel brochure for the state of Virginia.

The student will take a virtual cruise down the beautiful and historic Nile River. SWBAT conduct online research to learn about the Lower/Upper Nubia and Lower/Upper Egypt areas. SWBAT design a Photo Story 3 travelogue video enticing others to visit.

Students will work in groups, each with a focus on one early First American culture. Students will research where thegroup lived, focusing on the climate, homes, types of food, and daily life of the of the Early Americans. Each group will share their information and collaborate using Voice Thread for each area discussed.

This rubric assesses the student's comprehension of statistics comparison, spreadsheet analysis, ability to generate graphs, and word processing an editorial, which incorporates a graph.

The students will create a video slideshow commercial based upon a percent of change lesson on markups and discounts. Students will create a script and use props, dialogue and text while filming the commercial.

The students will create a computer-generated poster based upon a percent of change lesson on markups and discounts. Students will use clip art and desktop publishing to create an advertisement poster.

This rubric assesses comprehension of bar and line charts (graphs) and chart's design.
