Script Project Rubric
Students will spend the semester creating an original script as a final project. The script can either be a stage play, screenplay, or teleplay. Students are allowed to choose their topic, script type, and are given opportunities throughout the semester to write it.

Research paper
Research the approved topic. Submit one 4-6 page typed paper, double spaced, 12 point font following MLA guidelines. Include a bibliography citing at least 6 resources used researching the paper. (use quotes from 5) Sources should include a news paper, 2 professional journals, your text and two other books. Quotes can not be more than 5 lines. You are encouraged to interject your personal opinion into this paper. Paper will be graded on quality of research to support the topic, effective use of information gained through research, credibility of sources, content, grammar and mechanics, and bibliography.

MODERN MONA LISA
Students investigated the artists Leonardo da Vinci, in particular the artwork Mona Lisa. Students were required to transform Mona Lisa into a 21st Century picture. A focus was placed on the use of blending colours and using colour tones.

Students will research multicultural masks on the internet. They will create their own multicultural masks using an armature, clay, and found objects.

Painting: Landscape Project One
Student's had to create a landscape that included correct composition. The composition must include a diagonal, asymmetry, and dividing composition into thirds. Student's had to include an "expressive" sky, land, and a tree with branches. Students will be graded on over all composition, blending of paint and colors, class spent in and out of the classroom, progress in their skill/design level, their critique and blog journal.

Viscom 100 Principles and Elements
Assess the students understanding of the Principles and Elements of design. They will be given a brief test asking them to list and define the primary principles and elements of design. This will be followed with a timed exercise on the computer that asks them to design an advertising page layout for a specific product or service. They will be provided a digital worksheet with all visual elements required to complete the exercise. They must be guided by design principles as they organize and design an original page layout. These collective exercises will then be hung on the wall where a group evaluation will be discussed. Each student will be asked to share their concerns as they worked to solve this visual problem.
