Your cover page includes name, the date, the title of the book, the author of the book, and an illustration. The first paragraph should include the title, author of the book, the genre, and a complete description of the main characters. Descriptive settings, a plot summary, and main events should be included. Why did you like or dislike the book? Would you recommend this book to others? The report should include a summary of the author's overall message and/or the theme of the book.

Students chose a book to read independently and then review. The review incorporates information about the book's characters, setting, plot, genre, theme, and writing style. Students will decide which type of book report they would like to do: paper or PowerPoint.

Students will interview an individual who attended and graduated from college. They will develop eight to ten questions to ask the individual. They will include a colored cover page (picture, individual's name, school attended, complete heading). The final copy will be typed or handwritten neatly.

Students are expected to write a 300-500 word pro/con essay over one of the following topics to research: Children should never be physically punished. It was easier to grow up when my parents were kids than it is for me know. Single gender schools are better for boys than co-ed schools. Everyone would be better off without television. Students should be able to select their own teachers. Include introduction, pro, con, and conclusion paragraphs. The pros and cons must have 5-7 supports.
