Summary Paragraph for "The Jacket" by Gary Soto
Write a 1 paragraph summary using the note taking page completed as you read "The Jacket" by Gary Soto. Make sure that you include: WHO, WHAT, WHERE, WHEN, and WHY. Your summary should be neatly written or typed on Google Docs. You should have an introductory sentence that states the main idea and title of the story and a strong concluding sentence. Make sure you proofread and edit your summary BEFORE turning it in please!

Summary

The purpose of this rubric is to allow the student to know what the expectations are for writing a comparing/contrasting essay. The student will compare and contrast the drama "The Prince and the Pauper" and the movie "Twain's Tale Transplanted to Today". In preparation for this assignment, the student will have had instruction in the writing process, sentence structure, capitalization, end marks, specific vocabulary words, read the drama and viewed the movie.
