Pipes will be brazed together with filler alloy. Student will have choice of the alloy to be used and the choice of the torch to be used. Scoring 8-9=A; 6-7=B; 4-5= C; 2-3=D; 0-1=F

Adjusting superheat on a Thermostatic Expansion Valve

Given an Air Conditioning system the student will use the proper tools and equipment to check and properly adjust the superheat on a TXV system. The student will access an operating system with a TXV and take correct superheat readings. After which the student will make correct adjustments as directed.

Refrigerant Manifold Gauge Installation

With the necessary tools and equipment, the student will be able to correctly name the parts, calibrate, and install a set of refrigeration manifold gauges for use in accessing a refrigerant system and reading pressures found in a refrigeration/air conditioning system with 100% accuracy. The performance will be scored based on the criteria as described in the rubric.
