Students are also to include bait and a way to "trap" the leprechaun, such as a cage or a snare. Students will need a story to go along with their trap. The students will present the story and traps to the class.

Write an information report on an endangered animal. Write about its physical characteristics, habitat, diet, and threats to the animal. Include any other interesting information.

Students will identify certain characteristics of five different animals groups.

Each second grade student had to choose one (1) animal to research. They will create a lapbook about the animal that they chose and their lapbook cover should show the animal in the natural surrounding/habitat (where it lives or can be naturally found). The student should tell me all about the animal, including the group that it’s in, the food that it eats, where it lives, and any interesting facts that he/she wants to share.

Students were given a basic outline. We complete the introductory and concluding sentences as a class. They were asked to fill in the blanks with details using their books "Butterflies and Moths," and graphic organizers completed in class.
