This rubric is to be used as a scoring guide by which all projects will be graded

The question “When will I ever use this in real life?” is often posed in math classes. In at least two paragraphs, explain a “real life” situation where you may one day need to use your knowledge of quadratic equations.

Create and graph a quadratic equation that tells you how high you can throw a tennis ball.

Now it is time to show off your expertise about how carbon moves. Write an illustrated short story titled “My Life as a Carbon Atom.” Your story should be at least 300 words long and written from the perspective of a carbon atom. Use your notes from the week, as well as the diagrams and terms below, to help you. Feel free to be artistic and get creative. You can also use Kerpoof, Voicethread, Storybird or Comic Life to illustrate your story.

This rubric will assess a student's ability to write an original math word problem for a partner to solve and solve a problem given to them by their partner. Students are also assessed on their ability to explain in writing their strategy used to solve the problem.

The students will work to put together a poster for display. The poster will illustrate one of the first eleven postulates of Geometry. The poster will contain elements that are three dimensional and aid in the understanding of the geometric postulates
