Student Skills & Work Completion

This rubric will be used to evaluate how a student works and participates during activities (work, class, meeting, assembly, etc.). I have purposely weighted each criteria this way as I believe this rubric will be fairer to the lower level students that are trying to participate rather than those that are largely unresponsive in class - Fair = 3 and Poor = 1

Rubric for Paragraph Writing

An exemplification paragraph must include at least three examples supporting the topic. Examples should be arranged in logical order therefore, logical order transitions must be used.

Definition Essay

Students will combine all skills being studied in English IV to write a definition essay. This essay is standard paragraph form. The students will pick a term or topic to define and include an extended definition for the term or topic as well as examples to show support of that extended definition.
