This is a rubric designed for 5th grade teachers to score the Social Studies product based assessments.

Each student is to fill out forms about their country for geography class in Social Studies. Each student will present orally about the facts he or she has learned. More than 2 resources are to have been used to find materials.

A rubric to assess an open ended social studies project on either the students family tree or how their family came to America.

Social Studies & Science Portfolio Rubric

Early Civilizations, American History, World History, Current Events.

Students complete research and create a book with pictures and text on various statues, landmarks and monuments of interest to them from around North Carolina.

A rubric that properly evaluates the artistic process. It measures the various phases and approaches that are necessary in the assessment of a project or a work of art.

Students will create a 3-dimensional model of the Solar System. The planets should be in the correct order and be relatively proportioned to each other (ex: Mars should not be bigger than Jupiter). The sun should be included as part of the solar system. All planets should be clearly labeled in some way. This is a project meant to not only see how students view the solar system, but to also showcase their creativity. Student projects should be creative. Google project ideas for extra creative inspiration. Each student will have to present their project to the class, and should come prepared to discuss how their model was created and each planet. This project is worth two Science grades and a Reading grade. Please do not bring in projects early or late. Projects will be received December 17th only.

SLO Course Description: Students should be proficient in managing computer operations and file storage; preparing simple documents and other business communications; accessing and navigating the Internet; searching for information and resources using the Internet; using e-mail to communicate with others and to share files and documents.

Students must demonstrate basic computer skills by turning on the computer, using a mouse, logging in, and developing a password.

Business Keyboarding Course Description: Students should be proficient in managing computer operations and file storage; preparing simple documents and other business communications; accessing and navigating the Internet; searching for information and resources using the Internet; using e-mail to communicate with others and to share files and documents.

Civic engagement is "working to make a difference in the civic life of our communities and developing the combination of knowledge, skills, values and motivation to make that difference. It means promoting the quality of life in a community, through both political and non-political processes."
