The criteria for the students in Jazz Dance Technique dance class is a focus on technique, performance quality, and working as an artist and student.

The dances will be assessed upon set up that includes ability to incorporate the right combination of steps and moves in accordance with the music , coordination, group effort, and dance theme. They will also be assessed on ability to dance, sing and act simultaneously.

Students are required to create their own dances, in groups no larger than 3 students. Dance routines are to be at least 1.5 min. in length. Students are encouraged to create their own original dance movements. Dance should reflect work and techniques learned in class throughout the year.
