Descriptive Writing Rubric

Students will tell a survival story using strong verbs and sensory words to create a descriptive essay that appeals to the senses. This story must include two sensory details for each of the five senses. Writing will be graded on capitalization, punctuation, use of main idea, supporting major details and minor details, spelling, subject/verb tense and agreement, and use of sensory words and strong verbs.
