A How-to Presentation is a step-by-step explanation of a process. Choose a process that you enjoy and develop a how-to presentation that will help your classmates perform the process, even if it's something they've never done before. You are able to do this by creating a video, doing a live presentation, creating a poster and presenting it, or creating a power point and presenting it.

Students are to write a piece of literary nonfiction that demonstrates their understanding of the elements of this genre.

Student will write a piece of literary nonfiction text based on a literary nonfiction/literary essay. The student's writing must be linked thematically to the original text.

Students are to write a short story that demonstrates their understanding of the stages of plot and the characteristics of a short story.

Students will create their own short story, focusing on setting, characterization, plot, imagery, dialogue, point of view and grammar.

Student will evaluate peers during all oral presentations. Evaluations for each presentation will be stapled and handed in with a cover sheet.

This rubric will allow students and myself to critique short improvisations performed in class.
