This rubric will help to guide students through the writing process for a nursing pre and post clinical journal or lab skills test out.

Choose a patient scenario. It may be a patient you had in clinical, a patient with a disease or disorder of your choosing (different from the one presented in patho), or your instructor can provide one for you. Prepare a care plan based on relevant objective and subjective assessment data. Explain what assessments would be done and how data would be obtained. The care plan will include nursing diagnosis, Nursing Care plan.

Each student group will research a disease, illness, or condition of the instructor's choosing and relay what was learned to the class. Information on the disease should include the physiology and etiology of the condition, as well as discussion of diagnostics, nursing assessments (subjective & objective), medical management, nursing diagnosis and planning and nursing interventions & special consideration. Rationales for nursing interventions should be explained and discussed. Presentations can be in any format that the student group desires. A written summary of the presentation and research is to be handed in, and bibliography/references are to be included for assessment.

Instructions Do a research paper on the topic of “the image of nursing”, current health care topic, or historical figure in nursing •Go to the library and pick 2-3 articles in either books, journal articles, or web based articles ( Wikipedia is not acceptable). •Write a 3-5 page paper using your research to support the topic •Follow the above table. •Final paper due on April 16th.

Students are required to perform nursing skills with 100 % proficiency. In addition to skills performance of skills, students must use critical thinking skills to include indirect care measures:safety, infection control, comfort measures, resident rights. Must be prepared to test out and provide journal or skills sheet reflecting assessments, goals, methods ad self-evaluation.
