Creative writing rubric for English 127 (Poetry, Fiction, Drama)

Student will write a thesis statement that identifies the focus or controlling idea.

After selecting a research question about diversity, the student will write a 5-7 page essay that responds to the thesis. The essay must contain a thesis statement with supporting information. The essay must use a minimum of three sources and must include a bibliography; no more than two sources may be from the Internet. The student should read the "Accelerated" column of the rubric to understand the expectations for high-quality work.
