A rubric that depicts the various stages and completion of gingerbread house construction.

Students will create a Gingerbread house, similar to the houses in Germany. Students will include various polygons and angles within their project demonstration.

Research holiday traditions, foods, geography and climate, economy, typical meals and culture. Make an oral report about the country and demonstrate and/or provide food samples.

Students will work collaboratively to create and design a menu consisting of the country’s signature cuisines. 6. Preparation (learning environment – set up)• Research the food and culture of a country of their choice • Gather relative information from multiple print and digital sources to select recipes related to the country’s signature cuisines • Apply recipe and menu planning principles and techniques to calculate units for various ingredients • Attend to precision and measurement while demonstrating a variety of cooking methods of various food items • Calculate the following nutritional values for each recipe • Gather relative information from multiple print and digital sources to select comparable prices for each menu item • Synthesize all of the information to design a menu which includes: o A description o A photo The assignment will be graded according to the activity plan, presentation content, presentation skills, and teamwork.
