Students are required to research a historical figure in connection with Black History Month. They will write 10 or more sentences within two paragraphs about the hero of their choice. They will paste a picture of the African- American hero. The report will be completed on the writing template provided. It will include the following requirements in the rubric.

After using the IIM (Independent Investigation Method) to research Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. students are required to complete an informational self-made book about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. They are then to write a 3 or more sentences about him. The report must be factual and based on the things they learned during our IIM research of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. It will include the following requirements in the rubric.

Lit Letter Rubric
For 10% of your grade, you are required to read and write a letter to me about your Free Reading Project book that you are reading in addition to what we read in Language and Literature class, per quarter. Your letter must contain a plot summary, a description of the setting, a description of the protagonist and antagonist and the main conflict in the text, as well as questions that you had as you read the story, and, finally, whether you have any questions or need me to help clarify and confusion during your reading of the book.
