Character description

The students must write a summary using the graphic organizer in their summarizing journal known as "somebody, wanted, but, so then..." strategy.

5 paragraph essay - Introduction (Lead & Topic Sentence), Main Idea 1 w/ 4 details, Main Idea 2 w/ 4 details, Main Idea 3 w/ 4 details, and Conclusion - must have 2 sentences, and the last sentence MUST be similar to the topic sentence in the Introduction.

Grading rubric for the book clubs

Students were to design a medieval coat of arms. It is to contain symbols that represent their personality. A paragraph is to be attached explaining meaning of symbols. The coat of arms is to be colored.

This rubric is used to grade the creation of a Knights Armor in the Social Studies Unit - Medieval Time based on: knowledge and understanding, research, process, organization, spelling and presenting of Grade 4 students. The rubric follow and is created by using the Ontario Standard Social Studies Curriculum document.

Medieval Manor

Students complete simple graphic organizer about character traits using evidence from the text. Then write about the character traits and connect the evidence from the text to create a mental picture of the character.

The following rubric will be used to grade your Diamante poems. Line 1 - one noun Line 2 - two adjectives Line 3 - 3 verbs ending in "ing" Line 4 - 4 nouns Line 5 - 3 verbs ending in "ing" Line 6 - 2 adjectives Line 7 - 1 noun

This diamante poem will be graded on creativity, spelling, and completion.
