AAPT Physics Photo Contest

Group video project

Poster and a Presentation of a science concept and/or lab experience.

you will create a documnetary on the subject of your choice to teach the class key points about the subject. The documentary must be a minimum of 4 minutes and a workcited sheet will be required.

Create a music video (using iMovie, MovieMaker or Photostory) to include outside visuals and transitions demonstrating their knowledge of one of the subjects that we studied in Physical Science. You may work with a partner on this project.

Student is tasked to explain the safety requirements of Roller Coasters in the U.S. You will have to design a roller coaster that has a theme and make a scale working model of your design minimum size 20X25 in. A 1 page paper is required desribing your understanding of energy and how it relates to your roller coaster.

Research the approved topic. Submit one 3-4 page typed paper, double spaced, 12 point font following MLA guidelines. Include a bibliography citing at least 3 resources used researching the paper. Paper will be graded on quality of research to support the topic, effective use of information gained through research, credibility of sources, content, grammar and mechanics, and bibliography.

Student will create a science device to demonstrate to the class. Student is required to turn in a lab report and present the device to the class describing its operation.

Students will create a comic book about Geometry using all or most of the topics discussed in class

Students will create an 8 page, 500 word minimum comic book with the following reqirements: 1. Main character has to have science based powers 2. Main charcter has to have an archenemy with secret origins for both 3. The characters must go on an adventure

Create a rube goldberg device consisting of 4 simple machines. The device must complete the following requirements: -Run for at least 10 seconds -Last action must pop a balloon -No flame or explosive actions allowed A written report and a detailed drawing of your device is required for this project.

Create an experiment that has a testable hypothesis, material list, procedures, data collection and displays along with a conclusion to your findings. Your lab report must follow the lab format from class. Your display must include a poster describing your experiment, data collection and conclusion. You must give a short (3-5 min) presentation to the class about your experiment.
