Brochure Requirements After reading the Realistic Fiction book of your choice, you need to create a brochure to tell about your book. Brochures are used to tell about something in a fun, interesting, and brief way so that people want to know more about whatever is being advertised. When creating your brochure, make it so that someone would want to read your book after looking at your brochure.

Students will read a fiction or non fiction and create a book report using a cereal box. The box must be covered with a light colored construction paper, decorated based on the book, and include an artifact that they may make based on the story.

Book created for next year's Foreign Exchange Students describing each of the 11 forms of figurative language we learned about this school year.

The students are to identify and write down things from the story that are fantasy and reality on the correct side. They are to work together as a group. They are to present information to class.

Assessing reading comprehension - Grade 4/5

This rubric is designed for a teacher to assess reading comprehension strategies. This could be used for a week or unit long period. Resources are provided, but could be adjusted to use journals, literacy groups, etc.

The student will create a Diorama which includes a favorite scene in the book and an oral report describing the scene they chose (setting, important characters, how/why the scene was important to the plot), tell about the elements in their diorama and how they are related to the scene.

After you have read your book, pretend it has been made into a movie. Create a poster advertising your movie. Be sure to include the setting and main characters.
