Students will be able to give correct answers for basic single digit addition or subtraction facts.

Identify a missing shape within a given pattern of geometric shapes. b. Extend a given pattern, and recognize similarities (such as color, shape, texture, or number) in different patterns.

Students will know the main systems of the human body and what there functions are.

This rubric is to grade student's research of a human body system, describing it's function, the main organs or body parts involved and a few major diseases or illnesses associated with that system. Students will describe the changes of this body system throughout a person's life and how this system interacts with other body systems Each student will give an oral presentation using their interactive poster/bulletin board. The board must include all key facts about the system, be creatively displayed, include ways that other students can interact with the board, such as a lift-a-flap game or puzzle. A bibliography must be pasted onto the back of the board with at least one non-internet resouce.

Students will choose a specific topic to write a poem about. The students will go through the writing process (prewriting, drafting, editing, revising and publishing) to create a poem that contains 4 stanzas with 4 lines in each stanza. The poem will have a consistent rhyme scheme throghout the poem. The student will type their poem and paste it onto a piece of construction paper. On the border around the poem, the student will create symbols that represent their poem.

The student will read (or have a story read to them) and will fill out a reading comprehension sheet over what went on in the story.

This rubric is to be used to assess a student's final copy of an article for the classroom newspaper.

Groups of students will discover facts about China. The group is expected to address at 2-3 topics on Ancient China and use the internet or books to research their topics. Students will be expected to create informative paragraphs using the information they find.

The students will create a model of a chosen arthropod. They will complete a diagram with the labelled parts of the insect. Below or on a separate piece of paper there should be facts about the insect.
