Compare/Contrast Essay: Book to movie
The purpose of this rubric is to allow the younger student to know what the expectations are for writing a comparing/contrasting essay. The student will compare and contrast the book Charlotte's Web to the movie of the same name. In preparation for this assignment, the student will have had instruction in the writing process, sentence structure, capitalization, end marks, specific vocabulary words, read the book and viewed the movie. Students will also have had instruction using technology i.e., word processing and power point. This can also be used for older students who lack the appropriate skills to write this type of essay.

Interview Book Report
After reading the book, write a script interviewing one of the characters from the book. The final project may include more than one person, may be videotaped, or performed live. If live, be sure to practice as the other person's performance will be included in your score. Ask 10 questions to help the audience understand the book. Answer the questions in script. Perform the interview using 1 or more people.
