Simple Figure Abstract Using Color Theory and Geometric Shap
Recreate a realistic figure as a simple abstract. The student will change the organic form of an inspiration image into flat geometric shapes. The student will select a Color Theory: Primary, Secondary, Analogous, Cool or Warm to paint their Simple Abstract. The student will outline with sharpie to emphasize the geometric shapes and the use of line. The student will enhance their work by adding patterns as in Romero Britto’s work.

Video Montage Midterm project
Students based upon thier assigned topic from class must meet the following requirements in which they must create a 5 minute picture video using songs and pictures of their choice as long as the songs and pictures are appropriate for the subject matter.

Students will select three music videos which they link together. They will then analyze each video for literary devices used and explain the visual connections to songs' lyrics.

Student selects a picture from a magazine that is 1/8th or less of the entire sheet. Student will creatively add elements to the pictures using a variety of materials such as paints, pencils, markers etc. 1/8th will be odd materials (ie: sand, string, feathers, buttons etc. of their choice)

Magazine Project
Create a magazine cover that looks like a real magazine. Choose the title of the publication that represent SNS. Then, be sure you include a title, photos, headline articles, dateline and follow a theme. Be creative and make the finished product look as professional as possible. Be aware of the marketability and audience appeal of your magazine.

Art - Exploring Line - 3rd nine weeks project
Students were asked to draw a self portrait, using straight lines only to create the shape and form. The straight lines will challenge the student to create the illusion of 3D, The success of the drawing hinges on careful use of overlapping line or creating shapes from straight lines. Students are to draw the shoulders to keep the head from floating. Students may use some colored pencil within the drawing to create an interesting portrait. The time allowed for this project is a week.

Impressionist Painting
Have students paint a copy of an impressionist painting. Have each student create a label (one page max.) for a selected work, including the artist name, title, date, and a description, which should address the following: Describe the subject: What does the artist show in this picture? What details or symbols give clues to its meaning? Where is the scene supposed to take place? Describe the technique: How would you describe the artist's use of color and light? How would you describe the brushstroke? Why would this be considered an Impressionist work? How is it different from the work of other Impressionists? What makes this work unique to this particular artist?
