This Rubric shows what is expected when creating a Thinking Map for opinion writing.

TSW create an ecosystem poster that will consist of a specific ecosystem, the abiotic and biotic factors in the ecosystem, food webs and food chains within the ecosystem, and how energy travels within the ecosystem. TSW label the following: predators, prey, decomposers, consumers, autotrophs, and heterotrophs as well as connect abiotic and biotic factors to create a food chain and food web. They will also write a paragraph explaining the energy flow throughout their ecosystem. The ecosystems used will be Rainforest, Arctic, Ocean, Prarie, Desert.

Students are to trace their bodies and draw the circulatory system - labeling the parts of the system.

Each group will complete a poster and label each part describing its function. They will be illustrating comprehension of the parts of a plant and their functions.

Students must explain the ingredients needed for photosynthesis to occur. Students must write a description of the process of photosynthesis as the procedure.

Students will research a historical figure or historical event and prepare a visual presentation on said figure or event.

The student will describe explorers/settlers exploration in North America. Student will describe the reasons for, obstacles to, and accomplishments of explorers/settlers.

Students will use this rubric to summarize a short science nonfiction text.

Students will create a map with a key and the location of a natural disaster on a map of the United States.

The students will put together a mobile to that will contain information that the students collected regarding Natural Disasters.

After researching a United States region, students must complete and present a travel brochure to convince people to come to their region. The brochure must include an original theme highlighting aspects of each region's geography, history, government, and economy.
