This diamante poem will be graded on creativity, research, presentation and completion.

Students will create a timeline based on topic the teacher provides.

The student will make a newspaper including 5 articles and other features to share a chosen historical topic from the list provided.

This rubric is designed to assess the presentation of the group activity. The rubric should consider the performance of the group as a whole, as well as individual contributions.

Specific Expectation: Students will create sketch maps to show the relative positions of places; use shading/color to indicate variations in characteristics; construct and read a wide variety of maps for specific purposes; use appropriate vocabulary to describe their inquiries/observations.

Students are to complete weekly current events using the following rubric as part of their Current Events Project

People often express their feelings about historical issues or events through artwork such as songs, novels, short stories, paintings, sculptures and movies. For this project you will do one of two things: 1. You will choose a work of art which someone else has created to interpret an event or issue in world history. You will research the event or issue related to the artwork then analyze the artist's interpretation of the the event or issue through their artwork. You will then present your research, the artwork and your analysis to the class. Be prepared to answer a question from the class or the teacher. or 2. You will create your own work of art which is your interpretation of an event or issue in world history. You will research the event or issue, come up with your own interpretation of the event or issue then express that interpretation in a work of art of your own in any medium you choose. Be prepared to answer a question about your artwork from the class or the teacher.

Students must provide a well-supported position on an educational issue.

Students are to take a position on any issue, and defend/support that position.

In this assigment, you will decide whether you are for or against the dropping the the Atomic Bomb on Hiroshima and Nagaski and defend your position. The essay should be 3 to 5 paragraphs, typed, spell checked and proofread. It should have an introduction explaining your position, at least one paragraph, using actual historical events which defend your position and a conclusion. Use this rubric to guide your writing.

Students are to create a timeline concerning important Cold War events and legislation from 1945 to 1962. There should be no less than 10 items on the timeline. Students are to include graphics that they believe represent the event or legislation on their timeline (you can either cut & paste or draw pictures). Students are to include information required to know including significance.

This rubric assesses student performance on essay tests. The required number of sentences/paragraphs are indicated on the test.
