Vocal Solo Adjudication Scoring Rubric
Students audition for a solo that will be performed during the next concert. They will be scored on steady beat, rhythm, intonation, diction, tone quality, and projection.
Grade levels:

Level 1: Sight Singing Assessment FFMHS
4th-12th graders will sing and record a sight reading exercise during class. Each student must pass off to the next level by the end of the current quarter. In order to do this, the student must earn a score of 2.93 (85). This will be counted as a summative assessment.

SR Level 1 Assessment for Percussion
This rubric will help to assess how well a student is able to sight read an 8-measure exercise using quarter notes, quarter rests, and eighth notes in sets of two and four while keeping a steady beat.

Level 6B Sight Singing Assessment Flat keys and key of C
4th-12th graders will sing and record a sight singing exercise during class. In order to advance to the next level, the student must earn a minimum score of 3.0. This will be counted as a performance-based summative assessment.

Intermediate Level: Performance Assessment
Students will sing Amazing Grace, an SSA acappella version arranged by John Leavitt. Each student will be assigned a part to learn. Students will need to learn their own part and then collaborate with the other students in order to perform their parts simultaneously, one person per part. This will be part of the 80% summative portion of their grade for the 4th quarter.

Intermediate Sight Singing: Joyfully Sing (round)
7th-12th grade students work collaboratively in teaching themselves a song that can be sung as a round. The first time through it is sung on solfege syllables and the second time it is sung with the actual text. Each student sings independently, one person on a part.
