Research conflict minerals. Reflect. Report Findings.

RESEARCH A TYPE OF SEVERE WEATHER. DESCIBE WHAT HAPPENS DURING THAT SEVERE WEATHER EVENT AND WHAT WE CAN DO TO PREPARE FOR YOUR WEATHER EVENT.

Objective: To identify and describe examples of the four major cloud families and to identify the type of weather associated with each type of cloud. 1. Each slide: a. Name of the cloud. b. A picture of the cloud as seen from the ground. c. A picture of the cloud as seen from a satellite. d. A written description of the cloud. e. A written description of the type of weather (if any) associated the cloud type. 2. Extra credit for other clouds

Select an issue that threatens or affects our planet's oceans. Find multiple triable resources (3 or more) that pertain to your issue. Explore your issue completely. Be sure to take into account not only the human impact on the oceans, but also economic and social impacts of your issue. What should society as a whole do about your selected issue? Why do you think this course of action is the best choice? What are some of the problems you foresee in implementing your solution? Use the productivity app of your choice on your iPad to create a presentation that addresses these questions.

Students are to create a timeline concerning important events in Astonomy. There should be no less than 15 items on the timeline. Students should include a description of the event. There must be a theme within the timeline (ie. History of animals in space, space disasters, History of Belief of our Place in the Universe, etc.) SEE RUBRIC BELOW.

Create a portfolio, using your iPad and choice of productivity app, about erosion and deposition. Investigate 3 "real world" examples of erosion and 3 "real world" examples of deposition. Include the following information for all 6 examples: a)an actual image of the landform, b) the specific location of the landform, c) a description of the process that created the landform.

Students will make digital report about a selected marine ecosystem: tide pool, coral reef, mid-ocean ridge, etc.). Investigate and explore the web to find reliable information about your ecosystem. SEE THE RUBRIC BELOW.

Students will research in groups of two or individually and report on the impact of a human activity on the oceans and seas including the facts, reasons, solutions and future trends. Presented as an essay, poster, or other digital format.
