Research the approved topic. Submit a 25 page paper that discusses the results of your research. Include a reference list in APA format citing 6-10 resources used researching the paper. Paper will be graded on suffiency of research to support the thesis, effective use of information gained through research, credibility of sources, and relevance of included information. One-third of the grade will be based APA rules regarding organization, correct intext citation format, grammar, spelling and punctuation.

This rubric measures only the PowerPoint itself, not the delivery.

Create the following assignment within your small group communities. You will have multiple class periods to work on the assignment but you will also have to assign responsibilities to individuals to complete outside of class in order to complete the assignment successfully. Each group will receive a group grade as well as an individual grade. Your assignment is to create your own ending to the novel. You will write this in the form of a script and perform it for the class at the end of the unit. As a group, you must also write a 500 word description of how your ending is supported by the rest of the novel (give at least three examples of evidence in the novel that led to your ending). You should hand in the script, the written description, a credits page detailing the significant contributions and who made them, a personal log of your own daily contributions to the group, and your individual reflection on the roles you took on within your group for group work and the performance.

All written assignments should be 3-4 pages, double-spaced, and must strictly adhere to APA formatting. Value will be deducted from the assignment grade for formatting errors. More values will be deducted for those errors that the instructor has already pointed out to the student.

Criteria for position papers.

You are expected to participate fully in class discussions, projects, assignments, and all other activities of the course.

Student will engage in an intentional conversation and then write a reflective report on the conversation. The report will consist of a two-column table. In the left column, the student will record word-for-word quotations from the conversation. In the right column the student will record what he/she was thinking internally as these words were being spoken.

Each student will partner with one other student to create a role play event (skit) depicting aspects of communication discussed in class.

Lead a discussion in class that focuses on answering the week's discussion question. Discussion questions are based on the past week's readings. The student is to lead a portion of the class time.

You will present present the details surrounding an event that has a conspiracy theory attached to it, and work towards presenting a more rational explanation to the event.

The purpose of this rubric is to measure student attendance and participation in an online context. Note that this rubric does not directly measure forum discussion posts. That is measured in a separate rubric. Instead this is intended to be the online equivalent of a student participation assessment which comprises more than just participation in classroom discussions.
