Digital Media Self Portrait-Midterm Spring 2014
Digital Media Self Portrait-Create a self portrait piece that tells the visual story of you. You may use any or all of the techniques taught in class or your may seek out tutorials to learn something new in Photoshop. You must also look for a typeface or typefaces as type will be used in this project. You may take your own photographs and include them in the project for a bonus 10 points.

Graphic Design midterm project using Adobe Photoshop to create a CD Cover combining text, photographs, and techniques presented in class to create a CD cover which tells the visual story of the CD's contents

IT Repair Tutorial
Student must create a tutorial for students in Freshman Academy. This tutorial is to help them understand either a concept, tool or program they may encounter at ERA in their Freshman year. Any topic regarding technology may be used for this project

Video Game Programming-Final Game
For your final game, you will be building an educational game. Remember, this game MUST teach concepts, vocabulary, theories or other educational themes. Remember you can work with ERA faculty to create a game that is useful in an instructor's class for a bonus of 25 points. This game must contain 3 student created backgrounds, 3 student created sprites, and must make use of some form of gravity. Remember when using complicated variables that some variable programming (equations, etc) will be very difficult to program, so take that into account when designing.

Magazine Layout-Final Project Graphic Design
Develop a magazine article on a topic of your choice. Write at least a 1 page article using proper grammar, punctuation and spelling. Once you have written the article, then using Photoshop and Illustrator, format the text and add graphics to create a pleasing 2 page (18x12") spread for a magazine. Students will tell the story of their topic both visually and with the written word.

Graphic Design Kinetic Typography
Student will create a 20-30 second Kinetic Typography animation using Photoshop and Illustrator. All type must be rendered in Illustrator and ported to Photoshop using the techniques demonstrated in class. Students will turn in 3 files for this project. 1. An .ai (Adobe Illustrator) native file with type and all type edits, plus any shapes or characters created by combining shapes. 2. A .psd file showing the frame by frame creation of the typography. 2 .mov file with the final rendered movie from Photoshop.

Digital Media: Identity and Portfolio
Create an identity piece for yourself using Adobe Illustrator and techniques learned in class. You will be combining your logo/monogram with other pieces you created for this class to create a digital portfolio.
