This rubric assesses the creative use of figurative language and ability to identify and exploit rhyming schemes and poetry styles. Students will create a rap battle utilizing authors, characters, sports teams, video games, etc. to battle each other revealing the opposing sides' traits, style, and using multiple figurative language techniques and ideas.

The student will present an oral presentation to explain a modern French artist. For AP students, the presentation will be entirely in French.

The student will create a dish that represents the cuisine of the chosen region. The accompanying recipe and grocery list will be in French and in English.

"Informative Essay" -Writing Assignment A Persuasive Brochure to attract the chamber of commerce to a Spanish-speaking city to be a "sister city"

Give a 30-second public service announcement or commercial in French either using video, PowerPoint, movie maker, or other digital medium, or presented in person

Students list a minimum of ten interesting facts about themselves using proper Spanish, varying their sentences. Add artwork, photos, real objects, etc. to create visual interest.

Students will work alone or in groups to research a French dish typical of their province, translate the recipe, shop for the ingredients, prepare the dish, and reflect on the experience.

This rubric is designed for a French video presentation performance assessment in which the students will be presenting vocabulary and grammar concepts from the entire year. Their video must have two parts: La Vocabularie in which they present the important vocabulary in a creative way. La Vie in which they present a dialogue demonstrating their understanding of the vocabulary and grammar points covered in the chapters in addition to any previous knowledge they have from French 1. Students are being graded both individually and as a group. The skit must be videotaped and either handed to the teacher in DVD format or posted on YouTube by ________________.

Students will create a "French video" that will be 5 to 7 minutes in length. A soap-opera, product, movie trailer, etc. The video must include each partner speaking 200 words of French. All members of the team will contribute and participate in the video. You may use others for your video. The final script due 11/9/2011 the video is due 4/15/2012

Student will explain to class how to do something in French

Create a menu for a French cafe or restaurant. Must create a French name for the restaurant or cafe. Should include foods, beverages, and appropriate prices in Euros. Correct grammar is a must. The student will include; (4) four appetizers, (6) six entrees, and (4) four desserts. The menu you must be creative and well done.

At the end of the lessons on how to say "I like to", "I love to", etc. and personality traits through astrology, students have been asked, working individually, to select AT LEAST five traits from a handout of the 12 traditional astrological signs that describe them best to create a sign unique to them, give it a name, and create a symbol for it. They were encouraged to write a short paragraph following the model of the handout which describe the sign in a more fluid, detailed fashion, for bonus marks.

The rubric assesses an upper level Spanish debate about Bullfighting. It includes the oral debate, written notes on the debate, and written paper stating the student's opinion supported by facts.
