This project will show how we all use math every day by examining the use of mathematical concepts in a common (or uncomon) career. You will interview a professional within a given profession or read a biography of a professional individual and examine the 6 math concepts used within the profession (biography, what drew the person towards the profession, how the professional uses math, what mathematical concepts are used on a regular basis and where they learned the math they needed for this profession). You will compile a summary of your investigation either in written form, a power point, a brochure, poster, research paper or other creative form. These 6 areas must be covered: nature of the work, working conditions, qualifications, opportunities for andvancement, job outlook and potential earnings. The project must contain an introduction, an interview, or biography, an explanation of the career concepts and a conclusion.
