This rubric is meant to help guide in the creation of your Google Slide presentation project. Each category in the far left column represents a component of the project that will be taken into consideration when calculating the final grade for this assignment. Review the rubric carefully and repeatedly throughout the creation of the presentation, thus ensuring the representation of all graded elements.

Students will give a five-ten minute presentation on a topic.

Students will characterize a character by Illustration, Description, Memorable Event, and Prediction of Selected Character's Future.

Working in groups you will create a poster demonstrating the following: (1) how the grammatical construction contributes to the writing (2) how word choice contributes to the writing (3) one poetic device that is represented in the literature (4) graphic organizer showing plot, conflict, setting, characters, theme (5) one symbolic representation with explanation

Using literary concepts to support an arguable thesis or controlling statement. This is not a summary and the primary argument must informa the reader about a literary element.

Assignment: Identify and explain a key literary techniques (plot development, character development, setting, literary devices - imagery, symbolism, irony, etc.) used in the novel. Explain how it is used, citing specific examples from the novel. Explain why the technique is important to the novel.

Students read and review a book. The reviewer summarizes the ideas of the book and recommends or does not recommend this book to another student based on insights he/she may have regarding the book. The scholar objectively evaluates whether the author(s) have fulfilled their objectives in the book and whether they have used persuasive and unbiased evidence to support their claims. Scholar also rates the book and provides details to support his/her rating.

Submit one 2-4 page paper, double spaced, 12 point font following MLA guidelines. Include a bibliography citing resources used researching the paper. Sources should include primary and secondary sources. Quotes can not be more than 2 lines with a limit of 3 quotes. Paper will be graded on quality of research to support the topic, quality of the conclusions gained through research, credibility of sources, content, grammar and mechanics, and bibliography.
