ASL Restaurant Menu
You are designing a menu for your Cafe. You must give your restaurant a name and create the menu in English. You can even download a free ASL alphabet font from lifeprint.com to use on small parts of your menu. At a minimum, make sure you have 4 catagories and under each have 2-3 food choices. Don't forget to add a price for each item. Be sure to use vocabulary we have learned in class. The menu should be visually pleasing with with easily identifiable headings, prices, and graphics/drawings or color photos.

El Huefante
You have a heufante! You must care for your huefante for a week. It will go w/ you wherever you go *unless an extreme hazard* & you must take at least 1 picture/day w/your huefante. It must have a name, face, birthday, & a min. 0f 5 sentences written CORRECTLY about what it does daily w/ as much detail possible. If your huefante breaks or cracks, you automatically lose 50 pts, more if it is your fault. You MUST include for every day at least 1 reflexive verb in the present, 1 stem-changing verb in the present, 1 verb in the past, & 2 verbs of your own choosing, either present or preterite. Garbled/Googletranslated verbs are unacceptable. Use verbs from your textbook & verb lists. Use adjectives often! Use attached sheet to help write about each day. Late work is a maximum of 50. You will present about your huefante to the class. Extra credit is possible w/ descriptions of your huefante's personality, family, likes/dislikes, etc. You must have your huefante every class day.

Carnaval/Mardi Gras Project
Find five interesting facts about the history and activities at the Quebec Winter Carnaval ( www.carnaval.qc.ca ) and present them to the class. You may use drawings, posters, collages, oral and/or power point presentations. At least one of your facts should show a specific connection with French Canadian history and culture, a connection showing what it means to be French Canadian. You should also include a short paper detailing in written form the information you provide in the visual and oral presentation. Alternate project topic: research the famous Mardi Gras celebrations in either New Orleans, "Cajun" celebrations in southwestern Louisiana, or in Nice, France.

Mi Hotel
Using the format for a brochure, include: name of hotel, its location, ammenities as study in the textbook and all elements discussed. Have information about your hotel: name, phone number, price of the room per night for one or two people, with or without breakfast. Present one famous/interesting landmark: museum, castle, park, etc...- make sure to include entrance prices and hours. Find a restaurant where you would like to eat. You will need: its name, the price for lunch or diner, tell what type of restaurant it is. You will need as well: Pictures, strip map, logo etc. When your project/brochure is completed you will present in to your class. Bon voyage!

You must include a power point presentation (MS Office 2003-2007) or video(Movie Maker -Windows) or any other application used for presentations, have the class do some kind of reinforcement activity(game or worksheet), and develop and administered 20 questions quiz.
