This rubric will evaluate the performance, preparation, and comprehension of the jury/bailiff in our "The Tell-Tale Heart" trial.

Students will read assigned portion of non-fiction passage and complete grapic organizer to illustrate understanding of main idea and supporting details.

Read the Book, The Lightning Thief. You will then create a diorama - which includes a favorite scene in the book - and write 7 paragraphs.. The paragraphs will describe each of the following, the setting, 2 main characters, plot, conflict, resolution (solution), your favorite part of the book, and would you recommend it to a friend (why or why not)

You will will read a fantasy book at your reading level. Be sure to keep notes! You will then create a diorama - which includes a favorite scene in the book - and a written report. The report will describe in one paragraph EACH, the setting, important characters, story plot, conflict, resolution and what you thought about the book (favorite part, would you recommend it to a friend, who would enjoy it, etc). The due date is November 16, 2012. Do your best work, please:)

• Your book report should be creative and neat. • The final project TYPE will be your choice. Each project MUST INCLUDE the following items in some form: • A “cover page” with your name, the title of the book, the author’s name, and a reader’s review (YOURS!) of the book, rating it from 1 (really bad) to 10 (LOVED it!). • Illustrations representing the book, either drawn or copied and printed, are included. • Some format representing the main characters, minor characters, main plot line, major conflict and resolution, and settings. • Proper mechanics--NO spelling or grammatical errors; grade-level effort is shown in writing and illustrations. • Project is chosen from acceptable types and is NOT a duplicate of yours OR another student’s in type or content.
