Groups or individual students will research and discover information about an aspect of space: space objects, gravity, planets, astronauts, space missions, space food, etc. may be topics. Students will provide facts with detailed explanations about their chosen topic. At least one visual should be included in whatever format their final project takes. A class presentation will be made, and neatness and timeliness of work will be evaluated.

First writing assignment of Grade 1. Each student will create a short story, a few sentences, a picture, and learn the writing process (Rough draft, good copy, etc.).
