Inspired by the documentary, Landfill Harmonic, students will design, sketch and label an artistic rendering of a musical instrument.

S8P4 Students will explore the wave nature of sound and EM radiation. e. Relate the properties of sound to everyday experiences. Students will research, play, and present how the structure of their instrument produces and emits sound.

This is a rubric for a culminating activity/project of McFarland and answering what they can learn about characters in McFarland and their own experience in Palm Coast. Students create a poem they have written based on their reflections and the film, McFarland, USA.

General Music

Create an invitation for a party that describes the setting, place, and guest list- include a thank you note for the potential guests. The invitation must have a RSVP. All components will be completed in Spanish

Students to work in small groups presenting information on QR codes.

You will be creating a booklet in Spanish about 5 family members and 5 celebrities as follows: - 1 sentence telling the name of the person - 1 sentence telling how old they are.

The students will write a rap based on the numbers 0-100 in Spanish. Their rap will be school appropriate following all expectations outlined in school Code of Conduct. They must also perform their rap for the class.

Make a CD/Soundtrack with ten songs for the book with an explanation for each song choice. You will need to create a CD cover and inside your CD book you should have an explanation in Spanish for each song that you choose, which should be approximately five to six sentences in length, discussing how it fits the book. These explanations should be where the lyrics would normally be in a CD insert The cover can be a photograph, digital art, drawing, or collage. It must be original work.

Read a novel and divide it into sections. Select a piece of music for each section. Record the piece and do a voice-over explaining what is happening in the novel during the piece of music and why you felt this piece fit the section of the novel.

Create a menu. You must give your restaurant a name and create the menu. The menu should include at least 5 complete choices for each of the sections of the menu: appetizer, set menu,side menu, desserts and drinks. The menu should be visually pleasing with easily identifiable headings, prices, and pictures.
