This portfolio assessment will track progress and growth across this class by examining the rubrics from class projects included in the final portfolio.students will be graded on a 5 point scale 1-Unsatisfactory 2-Below standard/needs improvement 3-Standard acquired/ met minimum requirements 4-Shows initiative and advanced understanding of standard 5-Exceeds expectation/ shows mastery level of standard

Students will select a photograph with strong contrast between light and dark values/shades. They will photoedit the image on iPads to improve the photograph. Students will place thin tracing paper over the photo and stipple (apply tiny dots with marker or pencil) to create tones that will change over the areas of light, medium and dark tones and highlights. Students will photocopy finished stipple drawing (optional: add additional details for extra credit) and complete self-evaluation.

Students will create a still life and turn it into a watercolor painting. Each area of the rubric is worth 20 points.

Students will accomplish A.1, AI.3, AI.6, AI.7, AI.8, AII.1, AII.3, AII.5, AII.7, AIII.1, AIII.3, AIII.6, AIII.7, and AIII.8 by creating sketches for their watercolor, choosing a sketch, and creating a watercolor painting.

3.A.3. The student understands how algebra can be used to express generalizations and recognizes and uses the power of symbols to represent situations.

Students will create a grid line system to reproduce a scale drawing of a candy bar wrapper or chip bag.

Students will map their way home by plotting landmarks that they will pass while traveling from school.

Using an online comic strip generator or drawing by hand, each student will create a comic strip to show how to find slope. Rubric for the GPS Task. Covers M6A2.c. Use proportions (a/b=c/d) to describe relationships and solve problems involving proportional relationships.

Students will learn what a budget is. Be able to identify different parts of a budget. They will identify steady sources of income and types of expenses. They will be able to explain hoe to adjust their budget and keep it realistic.

Students will be given ordered pairs to plot on a graph to create a picture.

Middle School students will present integer information using the power point presentation checklist. Students must list the rules for all four operations.
