Presentation assessment rubric for learning acquired from lecture and assigned readings as it applies to interview and developmental theory.

Research a group counseling theory in which you are interested. Submit one 5-7 page typed paper, double spaced, 12 point font following APA guidelines. Include APA referencing format and abstract citing at least 5 resources used researching this paper. Paper will be graded on quality of research to support the topic, effective use of information gained through research, credibility of sources, content, grammar and mechanics, and bibliography.

Students role play counseling session and demonstrate appropriate active listening skills. No questions, no advice, no problem solving. Use active listening skills of paraphrasing, reflections, minimal encouragers, and summarizations. Clarification only when necessary.

This learning event will focus on the application of Human growth & developmental theory, scholarly writing, and interviewing. Emphasis will be placed on student ability to recognize and apply theory to interviewee.
