Injury Assessment Rubric
This is a rubric to use to assist students in building skills as they relate to Athletic Training injury/illness assessment. Additionally, the purpose is to build students' ability to navigate an injury/illness assessment while also developing a strong different assessment rationale.

Carrot Lab: Diagnosis and Treatment of Fractures
Students will investigate the mechanism of bone fractures by copying images of what they see when they replicate the MOI of fractures with carrots. Students will then describe the MOI and treatment for each individual fracture

Surgically Stabilize bone fractures
All students will be provided materials to create an Orif Plate that will stabilize a specific fracture. You will receive instructions on the type of fracture and the body part it occured. You will then design the plate, complete with accurate measurements, diagrams, and a final product that functions to stabilize the fracture

Notebook Check
Notebooks will be checked at Week 8 and Week 16. This is part of your major assessment gradee. Notebook grading is based on organization, neatness, and accuracy/appropriate content. This is a highly weighted assessment that places your work habits and organizational skills in high priority. Students that do not provide a notebook on the day it is due will receive an automatic 0 for the assignment.

Application of Therapuetic Modalities
Tissue Response to Injury and the appropriate application of modalities within specific phases of injury. Students create a mind map that outlines specific modality use, as well as providing reasoning for "why are we utilizing this modality," utilizing their knowledge of tissue response and modality application to substantiate decisions and applications within a rehabilitation plan.
