General Rubric for 6+1 Traits of Writing for 6th - 8th Grade

The students will put together an electronic presentation to show during their oral presentation. The presentation will contain information that the students collected regarding events that took place from 1863 to 2013 in relation to blacks and civil rights in America.

Rubric for grading Unit Test Multiple Choice Questions and Short answer are out of two possible points. All other items are worth twice the point value of the column they fall under. For example: Each item on an identify is worth two points. If only one identify is correct the rubric value is one and the student gets 2 points on the test. The test is out of 72 points.

7th Grade Class Debates

Who am I?

Students write their own lyrics, based off the melody of an existing song or newly written melody.

You are to use a Venn Diagram to compare and contrast a character from each of the novels we've read. **SAGA kids will also compare themselves to these 2 characters. After completing a Venn Diagram, you will write a paper to correspond with your diagram. You may use a powerpoint or construction paper to complete this project.

As a group, students will create their own Jazz performance, showcasing the defining characteristics of the Jazz genre.

Research the approved topic. Submit a 2-4 page typed paper, double spaced, 12 point font following MLA guidelines. Include a Works Cited or Works Consulted page citing at least 4 resources used in researching the paper. Paper will be graded on quality of research to support the topic, effective use of information gained through research, credibility of sources, content, grammar and mechanics, and works cited or consulted page.
