Write a newspaper article for the events surrounding Lewis and Clark's journey with the Corps of Discovery.

Students will choose a specific topic to write a poem about. The students will go through the writing process (prewriting, drafting, editing, revising and publishing) to create a poem that contains 4 stanzas with 4 lines in each stanza. The poem will have a consistent rhyme scheme throghout the poem. The student will type their poem and paste it onto a piece of construction paper. On the border around the poem, the student will create symbols that represent their poem.

After extensive study students will create a unique piece showcasing their knowledge of fiction format

Students will read a non-fiction book on a topic of their choice. They will then present a 3-5 minute mini-lesson to the class on what they learned from the book.

Students took a commonly known fairy tale or myth and retold it in first person point of view. They had to go through every step of the writing process, be consistent in voice, and create an illustrated picture book version as the final product.

This book report requires the student to use textual evidence in describing a main character.

Students will write a characterization of a character in a work of fiction. They will also draw a picture of the character.

This is a Waldorf main lesson which includes the student drawing a series of trees to demonstrate the perspective drawing technique of overlapping and copying a poem in cursive into their main lesson book.

Students will work in pairs to read one story from King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table by Roger Lancelyn Green. They will identify literary elements - setting, character, etc. Then, they will write a summary, create a plot diagram with rising and falling action, and illustrate one key scene. Students will then present their work to the class.
