Students will research a historical figure and prepare three products for different audiences: a young child, an adult immigrant who knows English but not American history, an 8th grader. One product must be hands-on; one must be digital. The third is your choice. Products should be appropriate to their audience, as well as word choice, depth of content, etc.

Students will assume the role of a salesperson. Students will create a 50 second-1 minute sales pitch for their game. The audience must be able to identify the product, the need it fulfills, the targeted audience, the benefit, and price.

Reference Chapter 12, 13, 14 and 15 in assigned textbook. In groups of two's students must create a new product (new and revised) to demonstrate the selling process. A flyer for (Advertisement-Magazine Advertisement) must accompany product. Students must demonstrate all activities in the selling process by providing a written skit which shows: the approach, detemining needs, presenting products, overcoming objections, closing the sale, suggestion selling, and follow up. A PowerPoint presentation must also accompany the presentation. As a minimum the PowerPoint must have the following slides: (1) Title slide, (2) Introduction, (3) Sales pitch - how will you sell it and display it, (4) Feature/benefit chart, (5) Demographics- where will it be sold and to who and why, (6) Closing and (7) Works cited slide.

ALL games are due May 16th so we can play them before finals. Do your 50 q/a FIRST and show them to me. Get creative with the rest and have fun! The students will work in groups of 3-4 to create a board game based on the novel Where the Red Fern Grows by Wilson Rawls. The game should be either tiered or progressive (the contestants should either move from one level to the next or should follow along a path). The pattern used should be easy to follow. The students should work together to create a list of at least 7 rules. They should be easy to understand and neatly written. The information used in game play should reflect information from the text, or options the characters had but did not choose (what-ifs). The presentation of the game should be neat and creative. The game should be drawn on a poster board and include some artwork.
